Mod-ter is a fantastic mod, but not many people build very good maps with it, because it takes forever to make a detailed map and it is also not as optimized as the maps from older versions. Anyone else who has ever used shaders kept maps because it's not impossible to do both, and quite frankly, it is rarely a good idea to remove mechanics for cosmetics. I swear, this is probably the first instance of any devloper somehow deciding that removing maps for shaders is a good idea.

I am glad someone tried to bring maps back, but this mod shouldn't have even needed to exist in the first place. Not to mention that according to some forum users, it is very tedious to make maps for it, and it has collision bugs. Static maps is decent, but it's not a replacement in its current state, it lacks many of the maps of the older versions, and the custom maps, and the author decided that he was no longer working on it in 2015. It's the best replacement for RTB thus far, but it's nowhere near the same level at this time (or at least last time I played).Īnd yes, I can claim it's not that simple, because it truly is not. Now people who go on the steam forums see "BLOCKLAND IS DEAD" 50 times over so they don't buy the game thinking it's dead.
